French PM Castex: Coronavirus situation going the wrong way since two weeks

The coronavirus situation in France has been going the "wrong way" for the past two weeks, French Prime Minister (PM) Jean Castex said on Tuesday.

"Country will reach a nationwide high alert level this week," Castex added and noted that they will intensify measures in France's 20 biggest cities. "If we don't collectively react, we'll be at risk of a pandemic resurgence that will be difficult to control."

The EUR/USD pair largely ignored these comments and was last seen gaining 0.35% on a daily basis at 1.1778.
